Turns out Kellan was hurt filming Immortals
Kellan Lutz gave himself bruises while shooting action movie 'Immortals' because the weapon he was given to fight with was too heavy.
Kellan Lutz constantly "hit" himself with his trident while playing Poseidon in 'Immortals'.
The 'Twilight' hunk portrays the Greek God of the Sea in the forthcoming Tarsem Singh-directed epic, and he admits fighting using his iconic weapon was particularly tough because it was so heavy, leaving him with bruises.
He said: "Everything that Tarsem does has to be unique, in its own way. The first Trident we had was heavy.
"I was trying to fight with it and was hitting myself and giving myself bruises, and that wasn't fun. But, we found a great method and the Trident is definitely very unique."
Despite the 26-year-old star being renowned for his muscular frame, Kellan admits it was hard training with the weapon, but he managed to pull it off thanks to "great trainers".
He added: "There was staff training, yes. That was fun. I've done a lot of training. I love action movies and I've been trained in a lot of mixed martial arts, but nothing with the staff. We had really great trainers.
"It's a dream role for me. I just love my character. And, I love that Tarsem made them young Gods, so we can have more fun with it, like we all did in our 20s or 30s. We're youthful. If you're a God, you might as well be at your physical and mental peak."

Henry spoke about how the hardest part of shooting was staying in shape throughout the film.

"Too busy for love"
The 26-year-old actor spoke with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show and stated that he was too busy to be in a relationship at the moment.
The Twilight heartthrob has been in an on-again off-again relationship with 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord for the past two years but they have now parted ways although they remain friends.
“We’re both busy and we’re both focused on our work,” Kellan told Ryan on Los Angeles radio show KIIS FM.
“I’m really busy, I don’t know if I can say I’m enjoying being single. I just don’t have time to focus on trying to find a girlfriend. I’m very focused on work.”
Kellan opened up about filming the Twilight: Breaking Dawn movies and said it was a “long seven months” but he is positive fans “are going to enjoy” the last two movies in the hit series.
He is also starring in the upcoming film Immortals with Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto who he says is a “sweetheart inside and out”.
Kellan also dished about his co-star Nikki Reed’s upcoming nuptials with American Idol star Paul McDonald.
“I’m so proud. I’ve never seen Nikki so happy, we really got close throughout these movies. I hope I’m invited.”
Kellan really will be busy over the next two years as he is signed on to star in a staggering nine movies during that time.
Kellan goes skydiving
reaking Dawn star Kellan Lutz has again outdone Robert Pattinson with his holiday weekend antics. On Monday, theTwilight hunk got some major air time by going skydiving in Long Island. Forget fireworks, he was after a serious adrenaline rush and he even lived to tweet about it!
Lutz apparently liked his high-flying adventure just fine, tweeting "Best 4th of July weekend! Jumping out of planes, my favorite new hobby! Get Some, Got Some, Getting More!" Wow! Sounds like he enjoyed the experience maybe a bit too much. He even posted a photo of himself on Twitter, all geared up and ready to go. Lutz even kept his shirt on this time!
The day before skydiving, Kellan Lutz showed off another talent (tennis) and his formidable six-pack during the Independence Day Weekend Party at Ciroc Cabana Club, where the Breaking Dawn actor stripped down for ashirtless game followed by some time at the pool.
Lutz and Robert Pattinson may both be Breaking Dawn heartthrobs, but they definitely don't seem to share the same personalities. The last thing one would expect to see the laid-back Brit doing is tweeting about his skydiving escapades--or ripping off his shirt during a tennis match, for that matter. To each his own...
